Gomis 'can't wait' to welcome Payet to Marseille

The outcast has decided to strike at the Hammers in a bid to force through a move away from the club, and the striker wants him to return to France

Bafetimbi Gomis is hopeful that West Ham rebel Dimitri Payet will return to Marseille this January.

West Ham decide to sell Payet

Payet is currently on strike, having told manager Slaven Bilic that he does not want to play for the club again.

The Hammers have already rejected a £20 million bid from the French club, but Gomis, who is on loan at Marseille from Swansea City, is desperately hoping Payet decides to seal a move back to Ligue 1.

"The chairman will do whatever it takes to fill the gaps if we need to, so obviously every good player is more than welcome in Marseille," the striker said.

"We hear the names, you [journalists] write the names, you or your colleagues.

"So I can't wait to welcome Dimitri Payet. If he wants to come he is welcome here."
