Our goal is to contribute to producing new talents, says Osman Sultan

du Football Champions’ (duFC), home of the UAE’s official School & Street Cups in partnership with La Liga, announced the kick off the 2017-2018 season, with expanded dates. The announcement about the new season came after successes were achieved in the previous seasons during a press conference on November 23 at the Westin hotel in Dubai Marina.

We at GOAL spoke with Osman Sultan, the executive president of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, who confirmed in exclusive statements to goal the special care from the football company put into this project due to the great passion found for football all over the world.

Sultan added, to confirm the great interest they have in the games, teams, and players, that this is the atmosphere they want to create between the talents from the first day and that it doesn’t have to do with money or advertising purposes. The goal is to create a system to help develop the talents and find the champions of tomorrow.


He continued, “I do not know the specific criteria or age criteria for creating talents, we will just see their development on a daily basis and how that plays into the longer term, and we will surely see the result of our efforts in the future.”

In the same context, Hussein Murad, Executive President of Insperatos (the organiser of this event) that they are present to support everyone on a daily and weekly basis, especially after games. All of the media outlets started to speak about us in a good way, and the talents started to come from many locations to get a chance to play in the Spanish league, as it is a chance to play at the highest level.

He added, “I hope that after two years we would have 20,000 players, and we now have to make special training camps for the talent to develop in the ideal environment to be the champions of the future and for the managers of La Liga to see them.”

Murad completed his statements claiming that: “the competition will change their lives just like it did in the past and it will change their performances for the better and give them chances to play in Spanish clubs and change their lives in general. This will also raise the level of competition as they interact with better players.”

The du Football Champions is a nationwide initiative featuring the UAE’s official schools Cup and Streets Cup and is the only international youth football scouting platform. Conducted in partnership with Ministry of Education, KHDA, ADEC, Dubai Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Sharjah Sports Council, it aims to achieve sustainable human development through the discovery of promising talents, who will raise the bar on sports excellence at local and national teams as they become the next generation of professional male and female footballers.
