Despite the uncertainties surrounding the game against the Leone Stars, the Black Stars began camping on Monday in Kumasi

On the back of a Fifa's ban on Sierra Leone ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header due to governmental interference, Ghana are sticking with preparations for the double header.

Out of the 23 players called by coach Kwesi Appiah for the games, eight players, including captain Asamoah Gyan, who is making a return after a year, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan, Christian Atsu, Afriyie Aqcuah, Andy Yiadom, Richard Ofori, Nicholas Opoku, Emmanuel Boateng and Bernand Mensah were present.

Yet to report to camp are Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, Harrison Afful, Ebenezer Ofori, Thomas Teye Partey, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Lumor Agbenyenu, Jonathan Mensah and Daniel Amartey of Leicester City.

Others who were absent are Isaac Sackey, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Nana Ampomah, Majeed Waris and John Boye.

Although, Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has petitioned Fifa to lift the ban handed the body last week and wants Caf to set a new date for the double header after a meeting on Monday, it is still unclear whether the game will be honoured as scheduled.

Ghana football's Normalisation Committee is waiting for a final communiqué from Fifa on Tuesday, according to communications director Dan Kwaku Yeboah.

"We will continue to train on Tuesday and wait for the response from Fifa and Caf on the way forward," Yeboah told Goal.

"If the game is called off, we're expecting Fifa to reimburse Ghana so that we can settle the traveling arrangements of our players and other things that went into the preparations for the first leg including security and miscellaneous," he added.

Ghana are leading the group with three points, same points with the other opponents but have a better goal difference.
