Ghana announces pre-AWCON friendlies against South Africa, Kenya and Zambia

The Black Queens' friendly itinerary ahead of the continental championship has been revealed

Ghana will face Zambia, Kenya and South Africa in pre-tournament friendlies ahead of next month's Africa Women Cup of Nations

The Black Queens will use the games to round off preparations for the November 17 to December 1 gathering. 

All three opponents have also qualified for the tournament. 

Bashir Hayford's side will play away to Zambia on November 3, before moving to Kenya to face the Harambee Starlets on November 7.

The Queens will then return home for the last fixture against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa. 

Hosts Ghana, who are in Group A of the Cup of Nations, alongside Algeria, Cameroon and Mali, will open their campaign against the North Africans at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 17.

Hayford's outfit will then play Les Aiglonnes on November 20, before wrapping up the group series against the Indomitable Lionesses three days later.

Kenya, Zambia and South Africa will feature in Group B, which is completed by cup holders and eight-time champions Nigeria

The Black Queens are hoping to go one step further on home soil, having been losing finalists on three occasions.
