While Germany and Spain are among the favourites to win this summer's World Cup, it is perhaps fair to say that neither side boast a centre-forward who could be considered world class at international level.
The Germans' attacking options include Mario Gomez who has netted over 30 international goals, although at 32-years-old and back with his first club Stuttgart he is perhaps not as intimidating a prospect one would expect to find leading the line for the world champions.
Spain meanwhile have recalled Diego Costa and while the Atletico Madrid forward can be a raging handful for defence, there has always been a doubt about how exactly he fits into La Roja's system.
Gomez is the shortest priced player to find the back on the net in Friday's friendly, with the former Bayern Munich man offered at 6/5 (2.20) with dabblebet to score at anytime. While Gomez may be the wrong side of 30 he is currently the highest scoring German in the Bundesliga in 2018 with six goals in 10 appearances.
Costa needs to take his chance
Alvaro Morata's loss of form at Chelsea has opened the door for Diego Costa to be recalled and the Atletico Madrid man will look to stake a claim to be the starting number nine for Spain at the World Cup. Costa has not played for La Roja since last June, yet his excellent return to La Liga this year means he is in pole position to lead the line for Julen Lopetegui's side.
The 29-year-old is priced at 6/4 (2.50) to score, although he six international goals for Spain have come against lowly opposition (Luxembourg, Albania, Macedonia, Lichenstein and Israel). Friday's game therefore is a huge chance for him to net against quality opposition for the first time and further his claims for a regular spot.
Value options for a first international goal
Real Madrid pair Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio have been in superb form for their club and Lopetegui is likely to want to give them some minutes on Friday.
Leroy Sane meanwhile has scored 13 times for Manchester City this season and having netted at Under 19 and Under 21 level for his country, he can be backed at 5/2 (3.50) to score his first full international goal.
