Gbenga Ogunbote reveals Enugu Rangers' plot for Nasarawa United clash

Enugu Rangers head coach Gbenga Ogunbote has revealed his tactics ahead of Wednesday's Federation Cup semi-final versus Nasarawa United.

After eliminating champions Akwa United in the quarter-final stage, the Flying Antelopes stepped up their quest to reach the final with Saturday’s 1-0 win over Doroya United in Kano.

Ahead of the showdown at the Sani Abacha Stadium, the gaffer is happy with his players’ mentality and confident they will advance at the expense of Kabiru Dogo's side.

“It was a tough match against the defending champions but I believe that if you want to be a champion, you must beat champions,” Ogunbote told media.

“I'm happy with the mentality of the players so far in the competition. We had a good friendly last weekend and I am hopeful we will go through. Against Nasarawa United, we are not expecting anything less than a win because as you progress, the competition becomes tougher.

“We are prepared to hold tight to our plans as our target remains to hit the finals and been crowned champions. Nasarawa United we know is not a small team.

“We lost once to them in the league and were not able to pay them back in their own coin as the league ended abruptly. So, we have conditioned our minds towards stopping them on their tracks on Wednesday in Kano.”
