Former Tusker captain James Situma has revealed the reason behind his unpredicted move to the Kakamega-based side.
Kakamega Homeboyz surprised many after landing the signature of Situma, alongside teammates Allan Wanga and Noah Wafula.
The three players were instrumental for the Brewers in the 2016 season, helping the then Paul Nkata led side to a double.
The same squad failed to replicate their form the folowing season, forcing the club to part ways with 14-players after the end of 2017 season.
Among those released by Tusker were Situma, who has since come out to explain the reason for signing for the lowly ranked Homeboyz.
"I had several offers from top clubs, that is for sure, but Homeboyz had that hunger to get my services. The team came with an irresistible offer and I signed for them.
"They performed well last season, finishing in the top five was not a mean achievement. The bar has already been set and our main target is to help them finish higher."
Situma had previously turned out for Sofapaka and AFC Leopards.
