Former Tusker goalkeeper David Okello has joined Mathare United.
Goal had earlier on reported about the impending switch to Mathare United and Okello finally linked up with Francis Kimanzi side just a few days after he left Tusker.
Interestingly, Posta Rangers had announced the acquisition of Okello, alongside forward Edwin Lavatsa and Paul Odhiambo, who reportedly signed a three-year-deal with the mailmen.
But Mathare announced on Monday the signing of Okello “from Tusker FC”. “Okello agreed to a one and a half year deal to become the second signing of the mid-season transfer window after Emmanuel Otieno,” said a statement obtained by Goal.
Okello brings a wealth of experience in Mathare United side that was left with only one goalkeeper, a youthful Otieno following the exit of Robert Mboya.
Mboya terminated his contract with Mathare United on Sunday to join Wycliffe Kasaya, who also left for greener pasture at Sofapaka.
