Most of the results went as predicted, with the only shock coming in the match involving Leysa and KCB. The latter came down crumbling after falling 2-1 to the former.

Kenyan Premier League sides Vihiga United, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka, Posta Rangers and Gor Mahia were never troubled with their weaker opponents in Vegpro, Rain Forest, Baba Dogo, Kisumu Hot Stars and Kenpoly respectively.

Tusker FC defeated Bandari 2-1 to progress with Kariobangi Sharks eliminating Wazito in an all top tier clashes. Other NSL sides in the round of sixteen are Western Stima and Modern Coast Rangers. Minnows Friend Zone, Bungoma Super Stars and Liverplate are in the latter stage too.
