A wasteful Ingwe first squandered a golden chance to take the lead when Ezekiel Odera missed from the penalty spot

AFC Leopards needed a late goal to beat a stubborn Shabana FC 2-1 and progress to the round of 32.

Rodolfo Zapata once again came face to face with the unpredictable Kenyan football when he was forced to wait until the 80th minute to get the winner from Marvin Nabwire , who completed a brace in the match.

Nabwire shot Ingwe to the lead in the 15th minute before Shabana chopped off the lead just a few minutes after resumption. The home side equalized through Oscar Oketch but Nabwire powered home in the second half to save Ingwe .

A wasteful AFC Leopards first missed a golden chance to take the lead when Ezekiel Odera directed his effort from the spot way off the mark in the 10th minute.

Nabwire had another opportunity to complete a hat-trick, but he was denied by Shabana goalkeeper Dennis Ayusa , who pulled a nice save to maintain the score line.

On Friday, Kariobangi Sharks and Posta Rangers booked their places in the round of 32 of the competition after registering wins.
