Federation Cup draw: Akwa, Pillars & Enyimba handed tricky Round of 32 foes

Defending champions Akwa United face Aklosendi FC of Lafia in the Round of 32 of the 2018 Federation Cup and Caf Confederation Cup campaigners Enyimba take on Dynamite FC of Benin.

The Promise Keepers pummelled Cross Rivers’ Hope of Glory 7-0 in the Round of 64, while opponents Aklosendi FC edged past FRSC FC of Abuja on penalties to advance.

In the other fixtures, Kano Pillars engage Nigerian National League side Sokoto United, who eliminated out MFM FC as 2016 winners FC IfeanyiUbah will come up against J. Atete.

Having toppled FC Ifeanyi Ubah Feeders, Sunshine Stars will confront Confine FC of Ikot Ekpene, who dumped out of Nigerian topflight side Heartland of the competition.

Similarly, Nasarawa United will tackle Standard FC that expelled Nigeria Professional Football League champions Lobi Stars, Yobe Desert Stars and Plateau United will tango.

While FCT only surviving side Supreme Court, who sent Shooting Stars packing will face top-flight side Go Round FC as Niger Tornadoes battle Kogi United.

The competition’s head Emmanuel Adesanya, said the Round of 32 matches will be held on September 16 and 17, 2018 except for tie involving Enyimba, who will face Rayon Sports of Rwanda in a Caf Confederation Cup on Sunday.
