Malaysian outfit Johor Darul Ta'zim's Argentine striker Gabriel Guerra has been chosen as the Fans' Asian Player of last Week after his scintillating performance in the AFC Cup encounter against Magwe FC midweek.

The 24-year-old scored a splendid hattrick in a 3-1 win for his side which saw Johor qualify to the ASEAN Zone semifinals as the best second-placed team. His exploits, which included a 25-yard stunner, also meant he was chosen as Goal's Player of the Week

Other candidates in the fray were Saham SC's Mohammad Al Ghassani, who had also scored a hattrick and Hanoi FC attacking midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet, who scored a brace in his team's 4-1 win over Felda United.

Guerra was the outright favourite among the fans, polling 64% of the votes cast while Van Quyet and Al Ghassani accounted for 27% and 9% of the total votes respectively.
