Fadlu Davids: Siyanda Xulu will fit perfectly at Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids is not concerned that Siyanda Xulu’s lack of game-time in the past two seasons with Kaizer Chiefs could affect him at the Team of Choice.

“I know he hasn’t played consistently in the past two seasons but with the style of play we use he will fit in perfectly," Davids told Daily Sun.

"His ambition, my ambition and the club’s ambition is to see him get back to his best. I think we will see that in no time. We’re glad he is here,” he continued.

Prior to joining United, he was heavily linked with a move to Cape sides Cape Town City, Ajax Cape Town, SuperSport United and a return abroad.

“We all know how good he is. Before leaving for Europe he was one of the top defenders in the country,” Davids said.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender is happy to join the club because of the fact that he has been assured regular game-time which he couldn’t attain at his previous club.

“We had a good chat with the coach before coming here. He made me see reason about joining his team. In terms of playing, Maritzburg were the only team to make such a good offer," he added.

“The coach wants me to share my experience and help his young team. I have been assured of game-time,” Xulu concluded.
