The Chelsea midfielder netted his 50th Premier League goal in a meeting with Swansea to join some illustrious names in a group of creative scorers

Cesc Fabregas has become the first non-British player to register 50 goals and 100 assists in Premier League history.

The Chelsea midfielder scored reached his half century of goals in the English top flight with a wonderful whipped finish in the fourth minute of the Blues' visit to Swansea City on Saturday.

Three other players have achieved the feat before the Spaniard – Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Ryan Giggs.

The 30-year-old made his Premier League debut for Arsenal in 2004 before joining Barcelona in 2011. He returned to London in 2014, joining Chelsea for more than £30 million.

Fabregas has been a regular source of assists throughout his two spells in England, while also chipping in with the odd goal.

His best Premier League return to date came for Arsenal in 2010-11, when he netted 15 times.

An effort against Swansea has doubled his haul for the current campaign, with his only other strike having come against Everton back in August.

Having reached 50 in the English top-flight, Fabregas now sits alongside a couple of iconic countrymen who have also achieved that feat.

Fernando Torres and Diego Costa both graced the books at Chelsea, with the former starring for Liverpool prior to making a £50m move to Stamford Bridge.

Both were out-and-out strikers, so for Fabregas to have joined them in a goalscoring club is quite some achievement for the World Cup winner.
