The Black Starlets could not move further in their hunt to lift a third U-17 World Cup title

Ghana coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin has insisted that they were unlucky with officiating after they were knocked out of the 2017 Fifa U-17 World Cup on Saturday.

The Black Starlets lost 2-1 to Mali through goals from Drame Hadji by the 15th minute and Djemoussa Traore in second half.

Although, Kudus Mohammed pulled one back from the spot for Ghana later in the game, Fabin believes Ibrahim Sulley's goal in the first half which was disallowed by Algerian referee Medhi Charef, could have changed the final outcome.

"Everything went right [and I'm happy with my players' performance]. We scored a perfect goal [in the first-half] to make the scoreline 1-1 but it was disallowed. I don't know what to say again but I think that affected our play.

"We will hope to continue building from here because there are lots of talents in this team I brought to the tournament and I hope to see many of them in bigger places," he added.

Mali will play the winner between Spain and Iran in the semifinals on Wednesday.
