South Africa's inspirational goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is back, in time to turn Amakhosi's fortune around

Here's how the fans responded to Khune's heroics for Kaizer Chiefs against Cape Town City.

Our editor Ignat Manjoo also makes the point that Khune would've saved Bafana Bafana in the Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde. In his editorial before the games, Manjoo was concerned about Khune's illness, feeling that we'd need a strong goalkeeper to not only command the backline but also to save what would be an inevitable penalty away from home in Africa.

That's exactly what happened, and stand-in keeper Ronwen Williams was dropped for the second game as Wayne Sandilands came in. Though, Sandilands didn't do enough to stop Cape Verde in South Africa. Sandilands didn't make any mistakes, but it's the inspirational shot-stopping ability of Khune that earns you a point or three in games that you'd normally lose.

That is a point which Khune and his fans very much appreciated. View all the Twitter reaction and the video right here.
