Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has influenced a campaign by Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction to help combat drug abuse.
Salah featured in a video encouraging young Egyptians to stay away from drugs and the video has garnered over three million views across the forward’s social media platforms - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.
The clip released late last month shows Salah running before he stumbled across a young boy having to choose between drugs and his friends.

After the boy saw the forward, he chose to hang out with his friends and enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle rather than get lured into the dangerous world of drugs.
According to local reports, the Social Solidarity Minister, Ghada Waly confirmed that the drugs rehabilitation hotline has witnessed an overhelming 400% increase in calls after the campaign due to the cameo appearance made by the football star.
"Alhamdulillah hotline "16023" for the treatment of addiction has seen over the past three days the number of calls received increased by 400% and instead of going to be bothered by the afterlife death," the tweet reads.
Earlier this month, Egyptians tried to vote Salah as their next President with more than one million people writing the forward's name on their ballot papers.
