EXTRA TIME: Happy Obafemi Martins Day

The Nigeria international reflects on his winning goal that handed the Blues a trophy in Wembley six years ago

Shanghai Shenhua's Obafemi Martins took time out to remember and celebrate the historic day at Wembley where he netted a last gasp goal to hand Birmingham City the Carling Cup with a 2-1 win against Arsenal.

With just two minutes left of play, the former Newcastle and Inter Milan who came on as substitute for Keith Fahey, made a name for himself in the City of Birmingham after pouncing on a defensive mix-up to send Alex McLeish's side and fans to ecstasy of winning their first major silverware.

Martins joined thousands of Birmingham City fans in celebrating the historic day - tagged Obafemi Martins Day on Monday, a day after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's brace won the English Football League Cup for Manchester United against Southampton.
