EXTRA TIME: Mahlambi withdrawn from SA U20 World Cup squad

Comments
Mahlambi is a key member of the Wits team that's currently challenging for this season's PSL title

Bidvest Wits forward Phakamani Mahlambi has been withdrawn from the South African Under-20 squad that will compete in the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup.

This is due to a hamstring injury the 19-year-old attacker sustained while training with the Clever Boys.

Ajax Cape Town defender Sirgio Kammies has since replaced Mahlambi in the Amajita squad.

Thabo Senong's side is already in South Korea where the tournament will take place and they are scheduled to face Japan in their first game on Sunday.

The South African Football Association (Safa) and Ajax confirmed the news on their official Twitter accounts on Wednesday.
