EXTRA TIME: Former PSL players write coaching exams

With Benni McCarthy trusted to take the helm at Cape Town City, more former PSL players will be hoping that he would prove a success

This will pave the way for clubs to trust experienced PSL legends, instead of bringing in too many foreign coaches.

Here you can see the likes of Nassief Morris and Nathan Paulse doing their C license exams. Safpu Cape Town representative Brent Carelse will be doing his B license exams.

Yes, some of them are still playing football. Then you can have a look at more photos of Benni McCarthy getting his hands dirty with his Cape Town City players in training.

One of the advantages of bringing in a respected player as mentor, is that they understand the players much better, though there are exceptions.

We will have to wait and see which of the latest generation of former players will become successful coaches in the PSL in future.
