‘Everton’s confidence is back,’ says Idrissa Gueye

The Toffees nicked their 13th league win this term against the Terriers and the midfielder is upbeat that the victories have restored their belief

Idrissa Gueye believes Everton’s confidence is back following their run of impressive results.

On Saturday, the Toffees cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town to nick their 13th win in the English Premier League this season.

Having struggled at the start of the term, Sam Allardyce’s men have enjoyed a turnaround which saw them move to the eighth spot in the log, with 48 points from 36 encounters.

And the Senegal international who was on the scoresheet in their win against the Terriers is upbeat that the confidence of the team has been restored.

“You see it when we play,” Gueye told club website.

“The confidence is back and we are feeling good about how we play. It was difficult earlier in the season but the manager has got us getting results and we have moved up the league.

“We know we have a good team and the results have been coming and that has given us belief again.”

This season, Gueye has made 31 league appearances, scoring twice.

In their next league game, Everton welcome Southampton to Goodison Park on Saturday.
