The Toffees attackers have scored few goals this season and the 35-year-old former striker has advised them on to how to halt the unimpressive form

Former Everton attacker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has charged the Toffees’ strikers Richarlision, Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse to deliver for the club.

The former Nigeria international spent three-and-a-half season at the Goodison Park after joining the side from Middlesbrough in a then club-record deal of £11.25million from in 2007.

He went on to score 21 goals in his debut campaign before a career-threatening Achilles tendon injury sidelined him for 11 months.

Their current crop of attackers; Richarlision, Tosun, Calvert-Lewin and Niasse have only scored 10 goals across all competitions this season and the former Portsmouth player has advised the strikers on how to halt the not-too-impressive form.

“Scoring in the Premier League is difficult because it’s one of the best leagues in the world, so you need to be patient,” Aiyegbeni told the Mirror.

“Everton are a big club, so if they spend a lot of money on a striker, they expect goals - that is the job of the player."

“There is pressure to score, and sometimes you can go three or four games with no goals, but you have to keep doing what you’re doing, believing you will score."

Everton are ninth in the Premier League log with 15 points from 10 games. They host Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
