Everton boss Silva waits on Gueye ahead of Crystal Palace clash

The 29-year-old suffered an injury while on international duty with Senegal which cast doubt on his availability against the Eagles

Everton manager Marco Silva has disclosed that he will wait till Sunday to decide if injured Idrissa Gueye will play a part when they face Crystal Palace.

The midfielder featured for Senegal in their 3-0 victory over Sudan in Saturday’s African Cup of Nations qualifiers, scoring in the encounter but missed the second leg on Tuesday owing to an injury.

"We followed all of our internationals closely. Gueye picked up a problem, which isn't a good time for us but we were prepared for the schedule. Everyone else is okay,” Silva said in a pre-match conference.

“We have tomorrow and the Sunday as well to decide whether he’ll be ready or not. It’s getting better.”

The former Aston Villa player has made seven league appearances for the Goodison Park outfit this season.

Everton will be aiming for a back-to-back win when they face Palace after clinching a narrow victory against Leicester City before the international break.
