Ndouassel, Essien power Persib to victory over Sriwijaya

The African duo worked in tandem as the Bandung Tigers put four past the Andalas Eagles at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium

Ezechiel Ndouassel and Michael Essien were on target for Persib Bandung in their 4-1 thrashing of Sriwijaya in an Indonesian Liga 1 game on Monday.

Ndouassel opened the scoring for the visitors in the 17th minute courtesy an assist from Shohei Matsunaga.

The lead was doubled in the 32nd minute as the new signing turned provider. He laid the ball for Essien to tuck in the second goal of the game.

The Chad international then supplied his second assist of the game, teeing up Febri Hariyadi to fire in the third for the Blue Prince on the hour mark.

A fourth was added courtesy Billy Keraf in the 94th minute before Tunisia midfielder Tijani Belaid grabbed a consolation goal for the hosts a minute later.

The win sees Emral Abus’ side move up to 9th on the Indonesian topflight log and they welcome Semen to the Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on September 9.
