The Matsatsantsa head coach has attributed his side's recent decline to the hangover felt after their continental exploits

SuperSport United's woes continued on Sunday afternoon as they suffered yet another untimely defeat, making it four games without a win in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Matsatsantsa may have recently reached their first ever Caf Confederation Cup final only to be beaten to the punch by TP Mazembe, but their impressive year is at risk of ending on a whimper if they cannot secure a win before the Christmas break.

SuperSport have struggled on the domestic front ever since their continental cup final defeat with fatigue having clearly set in, and their defeats to Free State Stars and Baroka only further confirmed the hangover that the players are experiencing.

Nonetheless, in the aftermath of the loss to Bakgaga, coach Eric Tinkler admitted that the Tshwane-based outfit is having a hard time getting over their continental heartbreak

"We are emotionally and psychologically drained after the Caf final," Tinkler was quoted as saying by Sport24.

But despite Tinkler’s proclamations, the 47-year-old maintains that fatigue cannot be used as an excuse for their poor form.

"However, that is no excuse for our poor Premiership form. We are professional footballers who are giving away too many soft goals since the Caf final," he concluded.
