Fatau Dauda has apologised for getting sent off in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Akwa United at UJ Esuene Stadium.

Dauda was shown a red card in the 41st minute for his challenge at Ifeanyi Ede in an off the ball incident.

According to the Ghanaian, his marching order was the turning point as it cost his side victory against the Promise Keeper.

“It’s very unfortunate that happened,” Dauda told club media.

“Who knows, we should have won the game if we had been 11 players on the field.

“The only thing I can do now is to ask the forgiveness of the fans, and of the whole team. This will not happen again.”

Enyimba are eight with 27 points from 17 matches. They are guests of Abdu Maikaba’s men in the reverse fixture billed for May 6.
