Enyimba’s Anaemena eyes victory over Kano Pillars

After suffering a loss in Ibadan, the People’s Elephants defender is confident that they will return to winning ways against the Masu Gida

Ifeanyi Anaemena has his sights set on Enyimba returning to ways in their next Nigerian topflight encounter against Kano Pillars.

Last week, the Aba side fell to an eighth minute strike from Abayomi Adebayo to lose 1-0 to Shooting Stars. But the defender assures they will get a victory over Sai Masu Gida in Calabar on Sunday.

“We left for Ibadan with very high expectations but we didn’t match up with our high expectations on the pitch and thus lose despite the series of attempts we made to ensure that we level things up,” Anaemena told Goal .

“It was not the type of performance we expected but we must forget about it and think ahead with another tie against Kano Pillars this weekend in Calabar. We can’t correct what went wrong in Ibadan but we can do something about what we are yet to play.

“We want our fans to come and support us as we aspire to beat Pillars and try to keep putting pressure on the top three. We need them to come and ginger us up and help to weaken our opponents through their ceaseless support.”
