England vs USA Goalscorer: Rooney to sign off in style on his last ever Three Lions appearance

Wayne Rooney will be hoping to round off his international career in style when England take on the USA in Thursday’s friendly match.

The 33-year-old has been recalled to the squad for his 120th and final cap, almost exactly two years after his last international appearance.

Having scored a record 53 goals for the Three Lions over the course of 13 years, he is available at 9/2 (5.50) with William Hill to sign off with the opener at Wembley.

Although not guaranteed a starting spot, the DC United star is surely worth the 5/4 (2.25) price to strike anytime against American opposition considering he has scored eight goals in his last eight MLS games.

Rooney’s position as star striker for Gareth Southgate’s team has been taken by Harry Kane, who is priced at a narrow 8/13 (1.62) to add to his impressive record of 19 goals in 34 internationals.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United team mate Marcus Rashford has found the net in three of his last four international appearances, and can be backed at 6/5 (2.20) to enhance his burgeoning reputation even further with another goal here.

At the other end of the pitch, Christian Pulisic will be looking to pick up where he left off on his return to the Stars and Stripes squad.

The Borussia Dortmund starlet has scored six times in his last 10 matches for the national side, and is joint 10/1 (11.00) favourite to break the deadlock on his first cap since May, or 9/2 (4.50) to strike anytime.

On target in five of his previous 10 internationals, Hannover 96’s Bobby Wood is priced at those same 9/2 (4.50) anytime odds, while 18-year-old Josh Sargent is also available at 9/2 (4.50) to maintain the impressive start to an international career that has so far reaped two goals in five senior caps.
