El-Arabi scores in Lekhwiya’s defeat

The 30-year-old Morocco striker scored for the Red Knights but couldn't prevent them from a loss against André Breitenreiter’s men

Youssef El-Arabi was on target for Lekhwiya in their 4-2 loss to Hannover 96 in a friendly encounter on Thursday.

Mike Steven gave the newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit an early lead before Martin Harnik doubled their advantage in the tenth minute.

Harnik got the Reds’ third, completing his brace, immediately after the restart.

El-Arabi tried starting a fightback for the Qatari side when he pulled one back in the 73rd minute. Tae-Hee Nam then reduced the deficit to one goal after he grabbed another goal.

But Djamel Belmadi’s side were taken aback when Yousef Emghames’s strike on the stroke of full time took the game beyond them to hand the Reds a 4-2 win.
