Does this stat prove Diego Costa is the best Premier League scorer ever?

The former Atletico Madrid front-man has been a key ingredient to his side's success during this campaign, scoring plenty of goals

Diego Costa has been a huge reason Chelsea are running away from the chasing pack at the top of the Premier League this season.

After scoring in the Blues' 3-1 win over Swansea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Costa now has 16 league goals this campaign as Antonio Conte's men close in on the title.

In taking his chance late in the game against the Swans, the Spain international has now scored in 42 of his 78 Premier League appearances, elevating himself above any other player to play more than 20 games in the competition.

The former Atletico Madrid star has a total of 48 Premier League goals since arriving in London from La Liga, firmly establishing himself as a key player at the club.

Having regained his form, Chelsea fans will hope that the Brazil-born striker can continue his goal-scoring feats until the end of the season, with the Premier League title in sight.
