Dino Ndlovu’s highly-anticipated return ends in defeat against Chelsea

The South African was on for 85 minutes as Qarabag’s aspiration to earn a Europa League ticket suffered a setback

Dino Ndlovu returned to Qarabag squad as the Horsemen bowed 4-0 to Chelsea on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old missed out of his side’s 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid following his dismissal when they hosted the Spaniards in Baku.

A win could have boosted their chances of reaching the Europa League after a failed expedition in the Champions League – but defeat to Antonio Conte’s men with goals from Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and a double from Willian mean they will wait till the last day to learn their fate.

Coming into this game, Ndlovu was on target as Qarabag silenced Sumqayit 2-0 in an Azerbaijan Premier League.
