Desperate Bony set for Swansea City’s clash with Manchester City

Wilfried Bony is keen to play against his former club, Manchester City in Wednesday’s English Premier League outing according to Swansea City manager, Paul Clement.

The 29-year-old joined City from the Liberty Stadium outfit in January 2015 after scoring 35 goals in 70 matches for the Swans but failed to replicate the form at Etihad Stadium.

And after scoring two goals in his last two games since he rejoined Swansea in the summer, the tactician has revealed that the Cote d'Ivoire international is well motivated for the game and ‘getting fitter’ after he struggled with injury and loss of form at the beginning of the season.

"His motivation for this game is “high,” Clement said during a press conference.

“When we played Stoke recently he was desperate to play and do well. It is a similar situation for him against Manchester City.

“When he left here he did well, he went to Manchester City but didn’t get to the level he would have liked same at stoke so he’s got a point to prove to people.

"Step by step he is getting fitter and sharper and the goals are starting to come.

“It was a fantastic finish at Stoke - a top-class goal - and what a big moment to score in the game on Saturday."

Bony has played ten games this season for 19th placed Swansea City and will be looking for his seventh start when they lock horns with table toppers, City.
