Copa Coca-Cola Ilorin Regionals Wrap: Abuja secure ticket for national finals

Despite being tied on points with their Bauchi counterparts, Gilbert Igwe's boys booked their place in Lagos based on goal difference

Bauchi 4-1 Plateau

Fariah Foundation, Bauchi brightened their chances of qualifying for Lagos finals after a 4-1 triumph over Government Secondary School, Plateau on Thursday.

Hamisu Kawu's brace in the first half followed by lone strikes from Zulkifu Siyi and Umar Farouk after the restart of the game, handed Dansabe Maikasuwa's boys maximum points. 

Patrick Kamshnen's consolation goal for the Plateau representatives before half time was not enough to get them back into the game as they settled for just a point from three games. 

Meanwhile, victory for the Bauchi boys kept them at the top of the regional finals with seven points and a goal difference of four while waiting for the final game of the day. 


Abuja 5-0 Nasarawa

Fosla Academy repeated the exact scoreline in their last fixture with a 5-0 bashing of Government Secondary School, Nasarawa in the last encounter of the Ilorin regionals. 

Outstanding Habib Kazeem continued his impressive run in front of goal with another hat-trick for the Abuja champions and thus, finished as the regionals topscorer with six goals from three games.

Hamza Dauda and Mohammed Usman completed the thrashing to put Gilbert Igwe's boys back at the top of the Ilorin regional finals log with seven points and a goal difference of ten.
