Confusion as Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro is linked with French club Amiens

Amakhosi confirmed Castro as their player in December, but reports in France suggest that the striker could be on his way to Amiens

Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro is linked with a possible move to French Ligue 1 club Amiens, according to media reports.

Amakhosi unveiled Castro as their player after reaching an agreement with Mamelodi Sundowns in mid-December, but French publication L’Equipe reports that the 28-year-old could soon make a move to Europe.

The South American marksman even bid farewell to his former teammates at Sundowns prior to making a switch to the Soweto giants.

Castro is currently in Colombia with his family, and he's only expected to return to South Africa next week to link up with his new teammates at Naturena.

It is unclear at this stage whether or not Castro has already signed on the dotted line with Chiefs.

However, while the club fans were excited with the acquisition of Castro, the lanky striker hasn't been allocated a shirt number as yet.

He was only expected to be registered with the PSL from today [Tuesday], according to the rules of the league.

Both Chiefs and Sundowns haven't responded to the report.
