EXTRA TIME: ‘Can’t someone score in peace again?’ – Legendary Adepoju shares funny throwback

Nigerian football legend Mutiu Adepoju took his followers on social media down memory lane - the 1998 Fifa World Cup in France.

The game in question was against Spain as the Super Eagles overcame a goal deficit to stun the star-studded Europeans 3-2 at Stade de la Beaujoire.

Javier Clemente's men were coasting home to victory courtesy of Fernando Hierro and Raúl González' strikes but Bora Milutinović's side claimed recorded an upset thanks to Adepoju, an own goal from Andoni Zubizarreta plus Sunday Oliseh’s screamer.

But Adepoju who is La Liga Nigeria manager evokes memories of a tough challenge from Guillermo Amor.

“That was how Guillermo Amor nearly broke my legs after scoring against Spain (France98). Se someone cannot score in peace again ni?” he tweeted.
