Bloemfontein Celtic snap up former Orlando Pirates midfielder Menzi Masuku

Siwelele have begun bolstering their squad ahead of the resumption of the season with the signing of the former Bucs winger

Bloemfontein Celtic have confirmed the signing of former Orlando Pirates attacker Menzi Masuku .

The 24-year-old has been seen as one of South Africa’s brightest prospects, but following his move to Chippa United , he has since failed to hit the heights expected of him.

Masuku subsequently only played in seven of the Chilli Boys’ Premier Soccer League (PSL) games this season, and joins Phunya Sele Sele on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

With Celtic flying high currently, punching well above their weight, coach Veselin Jelusic will be hoping that the introduction of Masuku will help them consolidate their position among the league’s ‘big guns’ this season.

Nonetheless, according to the club, Masuku who can either play as an attacking midfielder or a winger, is set to begin training with his new teammates on Wednesday as they prepare to lock horns with Golden Arrows this coming weekend.
