Betting Tips for Today: Greece could get revenge over hapless Hungary in Athens

The Magyars won the reverse fixture 2-1 just over a month ago but our tipster likes the look of Michael Skibbe's outfit taking the points here

Greece and Hungary meet in the Nations League for the second time in just over a month on Friday.

The Magyars won the first clash 2-1 but will certainly have their work cut out here, with 888Sport making them 9/2 (5.50) underdogs in Athens.

As such, Greece are 3/4 (1.75) favourites to claim their second Nations League victory and leapfrog their opponents, whilst a draw – which has occurred just once in the last eight meetings between the sides – is 23/10 (3.30).

Neither of these sides have particularly good recent records, with Hungary losing 11 of their last 16 games and five of their last six away from home (drawing the other), whilst failing to score in three of those six matches.

Greece, meanwhile, have won just four of their last nine matches and one of their last seven at home. Despite that, the 3/4 (1.75) on them winning this one looks a decent price simply because of how bad Hungary are.

Indeed, Marco Rossi’s men have lost at both Luxembourg and Andorra in their last six away matches – the only competitive match the latter have won since 2004 – and that poor run looks set to continue here.

As well, they have only scored in seven of their last 16 matches in all competitions and some punters may be tempted by the 10/11 (1.91) shot on Hungary to score under 0.5 goals.

Greece do not make a habit of conceding goals at home, having kept a clean sheet in half of their last eight in their own country and only once conceding more than one goal in that time in a 2-1 defeat to Belgium.

However, the 3/4 (1.75) play on Greece to win looks a solid bet ahead of this Nations League clash as the hosts look to stake their claim for promotion to League B.
