Betting Special: Koeman on the brink at Everton while Bilic sees his side hammered

Brighton's 3-0 win at the London Stadium saw Slaven Bilic trade at just 1/3 (1.33) to be the next Premier League manager to leave his position on Saturday.

Now though, the Croatian is a 7/4 (2.75) chance due to Everton's 5-2 mauling at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Paddy Power make Ronald Koeman an industry-best 2/5 (1.40) favourite to leave Goodison Park next and it's easy to see why the pressure is ramping up on the Dutchman.

Just eight points from nine league matches sees the Toffees occupy a spot in the relegation zone, having scored just seven times this season.

That return after a summer of investment - albeit having lost Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United - means Koeman may be the next manager to pay the price for a poor start to the campaign following Frank De Boer and Craig Shakespeare's sackings.

It's not just domestically where Everton have struggled though, having secured a spot in the Europa League it's now two defeats and a draw for the Merseyside club and they face an uphill battle to keep their European dream alive in a very competitive group.

While Lukaku is obviously a huge absentee, it seems Koeman has not recruited the right type of player to replace the Belgian, who has netted as many league goals for United as his former club have managed in total this season.

Wayne Rooney has occasionally sparkled in front of goal since his return to Goodison Park but the problem facing the 54-year-old is how to accommodate several players who would be best suited to one position, namely as a number 10.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen and Rooney would all fall into this category while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also been deployed in a central striking role in recent weeks, with limited success at best; £140 million of investment was expected to elevate the club's standing in the top flight, but that kind of outlay only ramps up the pressure on a manager should his side underperform and that is certainly the case for Koeman.

Everton now face a midweek League Cup trip to Chelsea and head to Leicester City for Sunday's late Premier League clash, with the Foxes making a winning start at Swansea under caretaker boss Michael Appleton.

Elsewhere Sean Dyche, Mark Hughes and Antonio Conte are all 14/1 (15.0) to leave their roles next but it is Koeman (2/5) and Bilic (7/4) that the bookies believe are the candidates most likely to be on the move soon.
