Although the 'away' side at the Stadio Olimpico, Al Hain-Cole expects the Giallorossi to make themselves right at home with a couple of goals

Lazio will be aiming to record a long-awaited win over neighbours Roma when the teams come together in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at the Stadio Olimpico.

Without a victory in seven Derby della Capitale clashes, Simone Inzaghi’s men are available at 17/10 (2.70) with Paddy Power to put one foot in the final by coming out on top against their rivals for the first time since 2013.

However, having emerged victorious in each of the last four meetings between the teams, the Giallorossi are marginal 11/8 (2.38) favourites to take control of the tie with a crucial "away" win.

None of the guests’ last 15 fixtures have resulted in draws, but you can get odds of 11/5 (3.20) on them playing out a stalemate in this one.

Although the two neighbours being drawn together in this round should guarantee two fantastically atmospheric encounters at the Stadio Olimpico, the fact that both share the same stadium does alter the dynamic of the two-legged tie.

While they are nominally the ‘away’ side, Luciano Spalletti’s men will feel extremely comfortable on a ground where they have scored more home goals per game than any other team in Serie A so far.

GFX FACT LAZIO V ROMA

With 53 goals to their name in 18 matches on home turf this campaign to average just under three per game, Spalletti’s free-scoring side will certainly fancy their chances of grabbing an away goal in this clash.

In fact, considering they have scored 14 times in their previous seven encounters with the Biancocelesti, the ‘guests’ are unlikely to feel satisfied with just one goal this time out.

Having kept just three clean sheets in their last 21 matches in all competitions, odds of 11/10 (2.10) seem generous on Lazio conceding twice or more yet again in another difficult clash with their Roman rivals.
