Belhanda fires Galatasaray to victory

The Morocco international, making his topflight bow for the Yellow-Reds, got a crucial goal as they coasted to a comprehensive win

Younes Belhanda scored a goal on his Galatasaray debut as they defeated Kayserispor 4-1 in the opening fixture of the Turkish Super Lig.

Igor Tudor’s men opened the scoring via Tolga Cigerci in the 16th minute before Levent Guelen restored parity for the visitors.

Ten minutes before the break, the Turk Telecom Stadium outfit new no. 10 restore the lead for his side. And his goal was immediately followed up by a Bafetimbi Gomis strike as they went into the break with a 3-1 lead.

With five minutes before the conclusion of the encounter, the Anatolian Stars were reduced to ten men after Tiago Lopes picked up a second booking.

Gomis then bagged a brace and his side’s fourth to condemn Marius Șumudică’s men to a 4-1 defeat.
