Baxter names Bafana Bafana squad for Chan qualifier with Botswana

The 63-year-old has made no less than 14 changes to the squad that took part in the 2017 Cosafa Cup tournament

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has named a 23-man squad for their Chan qualifier against Botswana this weekend.

The first-leg of the preliminary qualifier takes place in Francistown, with the return a week later in Moruleng.

The two sides met in the Cosafa Cup Plate semi-final last week, with Bafana beating their neighbours 2-0.

Baxter has been forced to make changes to the squad that did duty in the Cosafa Cup. There are 14 new faces in the squad. 

Baolefa Pule, Tercious Malepe, Mario Booysen, Sandile Mthethwa, Mothobi Mvala, Cole Alexander, Lehlohonolo Masalesa, Jamie Webber and Riyaad Norodien have all been retained.

Goalkeepers: Boalefa Pule, Khulekani Kubheka, Steven Hoffman.

Defenders: Siyabonga Nhlapho, Sphiwe Mnguni, Malebogo Modise, Tercious Malepe, Junaid Sait, Mario Booysen, Sandile Mthetwa, Mothobi Mvala.

Midfielders: Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule, Cole Alexander, Lehlohonolo Masalesa, Siphelele Ntshangase, Ricky Lourenco, Jamie Webber, Riyaad Norodien.

Strikers: Dumisani Zuma, Gift Motupa, Bonginkosi Ntuli, Ryan Moon.
