Baroka FC suspend coach Sakala and his technical team

Bakgaga have reportedly suspended their Zambian-born coach with immediate effect on Saturday

Baroka FC appointed Jacob Sakala as coach during the January transfer window to replace Kgoloko Thobejane following a string of poor results.

Sakala has overseen just two PSL games - losing to Chippa United, before drawing with Platinum Stars

It’s unclear at this stage what has led to the coach, who has a profound reputation for saving teams from the dreaded axe, being suspended .

His entire technical team that includes assistant coach Edward Williams and technical director Mark Harrison have also been suspended.

It’s believed that Thobejane and his technical team will lead the club during their next league fixture away to the title-chasing club Bidvest Wits on Tuesday evening.

They have failed to win in their last 11 PSL matches and currently prop up the basement of the table in their maiden campaign as a top flight outfit.

It remains to be seen what kind of impact this managerial change will have on the ailing side, who are really battling to get going this season.
