Barcelona vs Valladolid Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

After two consecutive draws in La Liga, Barcelona hope to return to winning ways when they welcome struggling Valladolid to Camp Nou on Saturday.

Ernesto Valverde's side will also have the return of the Champions League in the back of their minds, with the Catalans playing in Lyon on Tuesday night.

Valladolid are badly out of form with just two wins in their last 14 matches and are very much involved in the battle to avoid relegation.

Team news

Lionel Messi started last week in Bilbao although he did not look physically at his best and could feature against Valladolid. Luis Suarez is likely to be rested ahead of Tuesday's trip to Lyon, while midfielder Arthur is injured.

Valladolid have attacking midfielder Oscar Plano suspended, while Ruben Alcaraz - who has been one of their most influential players in central midfield this season - is a doubt with a muscle problem.

Preview

A home game against a struggling side is just the kind of encounter Barcelona would have wished for ahead of a big European tie.

Indeed it is a busy period for the Catalans, with the trip to Lyon on Tuesday followed by a La Liga game at Sevilla next weekend, and then two Clasicos in the Bernabeu in the space of three days.

It is understandable, therefore, that this game will have been marked out as a chance to rest players and make sure everyone is 100 per cent ahead of an extremely intense two week period.

Barca will want to win Saturday night's game with the minimum of fuss and exertion, and in recent weeks they have put in comfortable rather than stunning performances at home.

Tips and predictions

Barcelona to win and under 3.5 goals in the game is priced at 5/4 (2.25) and has paid out in three of their last four home league wins.

The Blaugrana will surely be too strong for their struggling opponents but with a big couple of weeks ahead of them, expect them to keep something in reserve on Saturday night.
