Kenyan Premier League side Bandari FC has sacked head coach Paul Nkata.

The Coastal-based side finished the season in the tenth position, way below the initial target of a top five finish, and that might have led to the sacking. However, the tactician says  the reason for his dismissal is a different one.

"I am no longer a Bandari coach, I have been released on the basis of finances. The management said the company is doing badly and that it is cutting the cost, and first they had to trim down the technical bench. No one talked about the performance of the team or anything related to that," Nkata told Goal.

"There are many teams that are after my services, I will have to take time before going for the best offer."

Nkata, who had one year remaining in his contract with the club, had initially coached Nairobi City Stars, Muhoroni Youth before leading Tusker to a double last season.
