Coach Bala inspired us against Plateau United, says Andrew Ikefe

Having helped his side overcome the leaders, the Ikon Allah man admits the coach's word of encouragement inspired their triumph

Niger Tornadoes defender Andrew Ikefe has credited his side's 1-0 win over Plateau United to coach Abubakar Bala's pep talks and motivation.

The Ikon Allah side triumphed over their visitors thanks to Samuel Agba's goal from the penalty spot at the Confluence Stadium on Sunday.

And the former Katsina United man insists they proved their doubters wrong overcoming Kennedy Boboye's men who were fancied to cause an upset in Lokoja.

"I feel so excited because we got the victory against Plateau United," Ikefe told Goal.

"The tension everywhere was like they will come here and picks the three points but in the end we prove everyone wrong that we are capable of anything.

"The coach's motivation helped us. He told us that we can do it and should fear nothing. That we should come out strong and at the end we will be the victors. We came out with that zeal and we came out top picking the three points.''
