Kenya drew with lowly ranked Comoros before losing to another bottom-placed side the Central African Republic in Morocco

South Africa could play the Harambee Stars of Kenya in an international friendly in May.

Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa confirmed that Kenya will play ‘big teams’ after he was put to task to explain why Stars prefer minnows for friendlies.

Harambee Stars drew with lowly ranked Comoros before losing to another bottom-placed side, the Central African Republic during the last Fifa week.

But Mwendwa defended the decision, saying that the two sides are not football dwarfs as alleged by a section of the local press.

“CAR beat Egypt last year. They are not minnows. Comoros Is not a small team, but we will play big teams in May. South Africa is coming. Togo is coming and I’ve seen a letter from Cameroon. We are looking into that,” Mwendwa told KTN.

Kenya are preparing for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana in September.
