Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba has asked to leave the club on loan to get game time.

The 31-year-old has lost his place in the starting line-up since coach Milutin Sredojevic took over last August.

His agent, Mike Makaab, has since disclosed that the player is eager to leave the Soweto giants during the current Transfer Window.

“Gcaba doesn’t get game time,” Makaab told Isolezwe.

“We submitted a request to have him loaned out. After that we asked that he be released from his contract with the club," he said.

Gcaba has been on the books of Pirates since 2012 having helped the club win the 2014 Nedbank Cup.

“Pirates hasn’t given us an answer, we hope that they answer as soon," he continued.

“We will wait for the club, we will not rush them. We need to remember that there is a contract with the club and we need to respect that," he concluded.

The Port Shepstone-born defender's last competitive appearance for Pirates was against Lamontville Golden Arrows in a PSL game in May, 2017.
