Atromitos’ Abiola Dauda ends seven-match goal drought

The striker hadn't scored for his Greek topflight side since March but brought his barren run to an end at Stadio Peristeriou

Abiola Dauda has finally ended his Greek Super League goal drought as fired past Antonis Kokkalas as Atromitos cruised to a 4-1 victory over Platanias on Sunday.

The Nigeria forward was on his worst run without a goal in the league since joining Ricardo Sá Pinto’s men, with the former Vitesse man having not scored since hitting the net against Olympiacos on March 2.

But the wait was finally over on Sunday, with Dauda giving his side the lead in the game and ending what had been a seven match wait for a league goal in the process.

The other scorers in that win over Platanias were Nicolas Diguiny, who notched two, and an own goal from Saado Fouflia.

Atromios end the season in eighth position with 39 points from 30 games.
