Atletico Madrid v Lleida Betting Preview: Latest odds, team news, tips and predictions

Atletico Madrid got the job done in the first leg of this tie with a 4-0 win in Lleida, which allows manager Diego Simeone to approach Tuesday's second leg without much trepidation.

Simeone fielded a strong side last week in Catalonia against out-of-form third-tier opposition and the result will allow his to make plenty of changes to the starting eleven at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Despite Atleti's team likely to feature mainly squad players, the hosts are still offered at just 1/10 (1.10) with bet365 for the win, while the visitors are priced at 20/1 (21.00) and the draw can be backed at 8/1 (9.00).

Atletico's only defeat in the 12 matches they have played in their new stadium in all competitions came against Chelsea in the Champions League back in September and that is unlikely to change on Tuesday.

Team News

With such a convincing first leg lead, Simeone is likely to rest the majority of his first team for the upcoming league game at Eibar.

Diego Costa is suspended for that game, having been sent off in his league debut at the weekend moments after scoring, and so the manager may chose to give him more minutes against Lleida.

For the visitors, defender Marc Trilles is suspended after his red card in the first leg.

Second string Atleti unlikely to bring early goals

The match on Tuesday is effectively a dead rubber, with both sides knowing the tie is all but over, and this will surely effect the intensity with which they approach the game as whilst it is Lleida's big night out, they will know that realistically their league game at the weekend is of much greater importance.

On a freezing night, in a stadium that is likely to be half empty and with almost the entire first team rested for a tie that is already practically won, a high tempo start from the hosts does not look on the cards.

Tips and predictions

No goal to be scored before the 24th minute is priced at 5/6 (1.83) and this bet paid out when the two sides met last week with everything to play for. With the tie already settled, expect it once more to be a low key start between these two sides.
