Asisat Oshoala scored as Nigeria senior women team were defeated 3-1 by Asec Mimosas U16 Academy in Friday's pre-Awcon friendly tie at the Sol Beni Stadium.

Head coach Thomas Dennerby, who named his final squad on Wednesday was hoping to assess his players in the first friendly since landing in Cote d'Ivoire on Tuesday.

The Super Falcons started poorly after the Abidjan based boys raced to a two-goal lead before the Dalian Quanjian striker started a fightback with her strike on the brink of half time.

However, when expectations were high about the Nigerian ladies' chances of ensuring a fightback, the local boys scored in the second half to claim a victory.

It is the second defeat for Dennerby and his Nigerian ladies following their 3-2 loss to Dominion Hotspur during their camping a week ago in Epe.

After Friday's loss, the reigning African queens will look to end their eight-day final camping in Abidjan on the high when they play their final test-match on Sunday on the same ground.

Nigeria are drawn against South Africa, Zambia, and Equatorial Guinea in Group B and will begin their title defence against Banyana Banyana at the Cape Coast Stadium next weekend.
